Clinics and Certifications:
Self Rescue - Join us at the wall for an introduction to some self-rescue techniques. Areas of emphasis will include: belay escape, self-belay, auto block belay devices, etc. This is a must attend workshop for those who climb and what to do when things go wrong.
Belay Certification Workshop - Provide you with all the information needed to belay at the EKU Climbing Wall. Once you have completed the workshop, you will be tested on your newly learned skills. This certification is good for one year! (Only for current EKU students and Faculty/Staff members of the facility)
Lead Climbing - This workshop teaches you the proper techniques used in outdoor lead climbing. This workshop is very informative, but is NOT a certification.
Cleaning a Route - This workshop teaches you step-by-step instructions on the process of route cleaning. This workshop is not a certification, but serves as an informative lesson.
Lead Belaying - This workshop teaches you the proper belaying techniques required when climbing outside. This workshop is NOT a certification.
We provide shoes, harnesses and belay devices for you to use for FREE at the Climbing Wall!
Ask the front desk staff for climbing shoe rental for the Treadwall upstairs.
Rock climbing is a great sport that has benefits for everyone. Come check out our indoor rock climbing wall in the Fitness and Wellness Center. The wall is open for roped climbing daily during the week in the Fall, Spring and Summer. Bouldering is allowed during any open facility hours. For all climbing you must check in at the front desk and have a current waiver filled out and on file.
