Eastern Kentucky University is a Tobacco Free Campus. Therefore, all patrons of the facility will follow the same policy while participating in programs or while using Campus Recreation facilities. All Recreation Facilities are alcohol, drug and tobacco free (including the Student Recreation Center, Intramural Fields, Weaver Gymnasium and the Challenge Course). Tobacco products include, but not limited to e-cigarettes, juuls and vapes.
Individuals who appear to be under the influence of alcohol or other drugs and/or are creating harmful situations will be asked to leave the facility and a suspension will be placed on their account as well as a note regarding the situation. Similarly, those who do not follow the tobacco-free policy will be removed from the facility and a minimum 3-day suspension will be served and a note will be placed on the account. Once an individual has obtained three notes regarding failure to follow policy further action will be taken by the Campus Recreation Staff.
In addition, a letter will be sent to the Office of Student Conduct & Community Standards concerning the violation of University rules and regulations. The University police will be called to assist with any individual who does not peacefully remove themselves from the facility at the request of the staff.
